Foreword By The Editor
Many who desperately need a fat reduction system that works, especially if they’ve already tried all the usual diets and exercises but have failed to get a result, eventually have to fall back on one of the surgical methods. As this article by Lucille M. Morris points out, laser assisted liposuction is the latest of these and is gaining in popularity.

Laser Assisted Liposuction

Laser assisted liposuction is the latest technology in use for the mechanical removal of excess body fat. Laser assisted lipolysis, laser lipolysis and Smartlipo, all basically do the same thing.
In older methods, the fat had to be separated from the tissue that was holding it by using force, so that it could be removed by liposuction. Even though the fat removal was actually effective this way, patients were traumatized by this method.
Smartlipo
Smartlipo is very similar to laser assisted liposuction. However this method does not place as much force mechanically on the tissue to free the fat from it. The fat is first melted by heating, which separates the water from the fatty tissue which is then removed by laser assisted liposuction.
How It Works
Gritty fat deposits in the back and upper abdomen are stubborn and need more force to break up. Laser assisted liposuction diverts energy to the fats or lipids through fiber optic cables by raising the lipid temperature to over 42 degrees C and releasing the liquid which is then removed by suction.
The heat which is generated by laser assisted liposuction on the cable tips makes the collagen tissue shrink which is also a beneficial process. There is still a dispute on the best laser wavelength to be used in laser assisted liposuction. What is popular is the dual laser wavelength which removes water from the fatty tissues as well as from the dermis. The equipment manufacturers suggested the 1064 nm or the 924 nm for absorption of the fats or lipids. Heat generation takes place in both and the fat gets melted giving almost the same result. Recovery is fast with this method.
They will probably switch to the one which has better results between the laser wavelengths. However, according to reports, the wavelength of the dual laser seems to be the best one for laser assisted liposuction.
Affordable Liposuction
Lipolysis is now a popular method and the use is gaining popularity because of the laser assisted liposuction method. Most people prefer to pay less so they also look for an affordable but effective way of undergoing treatment and many now choose laser assisted liposuction.
