What Are Face Pimples?

The overall term ‘face pimples’ usually includes whiteheads, blackheads, red bumps, and bumps that are filled with pus (pustules). What causes these annoying bumps? Most commonly, chemicals that attract white cells from the blood and which end up causing inflammation and infection, known to us as pimples or zits.

Avoid popping face pimples, no matter how tempted you are because you can actually make the situation worse by causing a deep infection. In fact, when you play around with pimples, you can cause even more inflammation by constantly poking at them or opening them up. Sometimes, there is an understandable urge to squeeze the pus from pimples on the face. It does relieve built up pressure but it is most likely doing more harm than good. Plus, the oil from your hands does not help!

If some face pimples get too much for you to bear, you might go to a cosmetician for help. A good one will have had special training in removing facial blemishes such as blackheads, pimples, and other such problems. Most people, whether male or female, are naturally embarrassed by their pimples.

Causes Of Face Pimples

Face pimples most often affect people during the teen or adolescent years. This is because, after reaching puberty, a person’s skin tries to adjust itself to various hormonal changes. Pimples tend to occur due to the sebaceous glands becoming active, which is natural in puberty. Hormones produced from the adrenal glands have a role to play as well, leading to the  stimulation of one’s sebaceous glands.

Another cause may be clogged pores. These open up in the depths of the skin and cause nodules, (infected lumps or sometimes cysts); these are generally larger than pimples and just as painful. Sometimes large cysts similar to acne (to look at) can be boils and can be caused by staph infections. Sometimes, especially if you have allergies connected with the changing seasons then you can also have the problem of pimples which are triggered by the same seasonal changes.

Usually, pimples start with blackheads and they are formed from trapped oil and dead cells in the pores.

Treatment Of Face Pimples

Prescription medications used to treat acne and pimples include isotretinoin, which is a retinoid. Historically, antibiotics such as tetracyclines and erythromycin were prescribed too. Treating the appearance of acne and its annoying blemishes must be tackled with patience and a degree of persistence. Contrary to what television and other ads may try to tell you, there is no quick or magical way of treating pimples.

Use a needle first sterilized with alcohol or by heat, lance any offending pimple and then dispose of the needle entirely. The pus should drain naturally with no need for squeezing.

One of the most effective herbal home remedies for pimples is tea tree oil. It has recently found increasing favor among some dermatologists and can be safely used at home. Whether its use in aromatherapy is as beneficial as a direct application is debatable, but topical application is now often recommended.

Prevention Of Face Pimples

The most vital thing is to wear clean apparel and sleep on fresh pillows. Excessively tight clothing can cause sweat to amass rapidly. Rosacea is a similar but seperate complaint and usually occurs as a rash, often on the head, nose, cheeks or chin, and can sometimes be accompanied by other skin blemishes. Rosacea may also cause blood vessels to become more visible.

Let me just clarify things out about popping, I certainly read an article that says, popping acne is the best thing to do, to prevent further breakouts but then here comes another statement that claims not to prick it. Certainly don’t know what to believe now.
